XFile

A compact Motif file manager with resource-based customisation and file associations.

Role: Motif application. XFile is a compact file manager for UNIX-like systems using X11 and Motif. It presents the filesystem directly, supports file-type associations and uses X resources to customise its interface. The application is written in C and built with Makefiles. Official project

It offers a focused example of a contemporary Motif application: file lists, menus and dialogs combined with ordinary filesystem operations. Its companion resources include extra file-type definitions, icons and integration helpers.
